Why Life Coaching?
Many people wonder what a life coach does and how it differs from working with a therapist or mentor.
While the definition for coaching can be a bit fluid, in my framework a life coach provides tools and new points of view for clients helping them work through personal and/or professional challenges. Life coaching is distinct from giving advice, consulting, counseling, mentoring and therapy.
You would hire a coach to help you with personal goals and life transitions, to identify and use your strengths, to understand how you make the decisions you make in order to analyze your current situation, to identify limiting beliefs and devise a custom plan of action designed to help you achieve specific outcomes in your life.
My area of specialty focuses on transformational coaching, beginning with understanding more about yourself and how the human mind works. Supercoach Michael Neill speaks of how people “will get more out of their lives when they gain more insight into how life works” (Supercoach, 5).
What can working with a life coach do for you?
Create and define a vision for success
Achieve personal goals
Identify limiting beliefs and learn how to overcome them
Work toward financial independence
Manage stress and learn time management techniques
Learn to communicate more succinctly and effectively
Foster more powerful connections professionally and personally
Articulate core values to better understand your decisions
Research shows that coaching in addition to training is a far more effective combination than training alone. Just as athletes train for performance, so our personal growth and development is enhanced when we work with a trained professional who can provide new tools and approaches that help us flourish.
Workshops & Seminars
Tamara’s approach to coaching is to listen for patterns and limiting beliefs that may be holding you back from achieving your goals and dreams and challenging those beliefs. Having been immersed in the film world for twenty-five years, Tamara takes a narrative approach to her coaching style with the goal of helping you understand your narrative of your life and worldview and rewrite the story you tell yourself and others about who you are in the world.
Change your story. Change your life.
In addition to individual coaching, workshops and seminars offer clients new perspectives and breakthroughs in a shorter timeframe. Our workshops cover a variety of topics including time management and goal setting, stress management, personal discovery and transformation, spiritual practices and more.
